The F4GH team has been fortunate to meet some wise people whose love and passion for all life is palpable.Here is an interview with the Arhuaco Mamos at a gathering near Valledupar, Colombia.

People from around the world gathered in the Sierra Nevada of the Santa Marta region in Colombia.  The event was called "The Dawn of a New Time."The four tribes from this region are the Arhuco, Kogis, Wiwa and Kankuamos.  On the 3rd day, members of the Wiwa tribe agreed to share with us and the world, some of their deep concerns regarding Mother Earth and humanity.

Pedro Pablo Chuc Pech, President of the Grand Itza Maya Council of 13 Elders of the Yucatan  and the Incan Sun Priest, Naupany Puma(two of the invited guests) introduced this sacred, precious and ancient ceremony. This "Sacred Solar Ceremony with the Sun-Rainbow" was intended to be inclusive of all tribes, to express deep reverence for all sentient beings, to bridge and unify the masculine and the feminine and to give homage to our sacred planet, the sun, the moon and the universe itself.

Phillip H. Duran, descendent of the Tigua Indians, earned B.S. and M.S. degrees at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he also conducted physics research, developed computer software, and taught courses in physics, mathematics, and computer science.  He currently resides in Rio Rancho, NM as an independent author, lecturer, and consultant. He is Vice President of the board of directors of Hamaatsa, a Native non-profit organization, assisting in the establishment of an eco-retreat center and indigenous learning model whose purpose is to promote spiritural wholeness and healing systems from traditional cultures and to revive indigenous life-ways and sustainable land stewardship principles for restoring our world.
